Meet the Austin Team Behind Marsh Water Damage Austin

When water is where it shouldn’t be, the people who show up matter more than the equipment they carry. Our Austin crew is built around a simple idea: you should know exactly who’s walking through your door before they ring the bell. Every Marsh technician is background-checked, identity-verified, uniformed, and photo-badged under the Threshold Standard, and we send their name and photo to you before the visit. Tobias Reyner, Owner and Lead Restoration Specialist, has put this team together over nearly two decades of Austin water damage work, and each member carries IICRC, RIA, or IFA credentials along with a genuine dislike for jargon, shortcuts, and surprise invoices.

Our People

Tobias Reyner, Owner and Lead Restoration Specialist

Tobias founded Marsh Water Damage Austin in 2005, and he still runs his own extraction jobs most weeks. He earned his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification early on and has spent the years since learning exactly how Austin’s limestone soil, slab foundations, and flash-flood seasons combine to push water into places it doesn’t belong. A marsh is low, wet ground, and Tobias will tell you that’s the whole point of the name: he deals with water where it shouldn’t be, every single day. When he’s not on a job site, you’ll find him breaking down a drying chart for a homeowner or explaining why a moisture meter reading in the drywall tells us more than how the surface feels. He dislikes two things most: technical language used as a shield, and a repair that isn’t right the first time. The 365-Day Done Right Promise exists because he’s the one who signs it.

Marcus T., Senior Water Damage Technician

Marcus has been with Marsh Water Damage Austin for eleven years and leads most of the larger residential extractions in neighborhoods like Allandale, Crestview, and Mueller. He holds IICRC Applied Structural Drying certification and is the crew’s go-to for complex crawlspace jobs, where Austin’s clay soil holds moisture long after the surface looks dry. Marcus runs psychrometric readings (measuring the moisture in the air) on every drying project and won’t call a structure dry until the numbers confirm it, not just his fingertips. His calm, methodical pace on a job is deliberate; he says rushing a dry-out is how you end up back in the same house six months later with a mold problem. Outside work, Marcus restores old motorcycles, which he describes as “the same patience, less standing water.”

Elena R., Mold Remediation Technician

Elena joined the Austin team in 2016 after starting her restoration career on the Gulf Coast, where humidity makes mold a year-round adversary. She carries IICRC Mold Remediation Technician and Water Damage Restoration Technician certifications and handles most of our containment setups and post-remediation verification in Austin and the surrounding Hill Country communities. Elena is the person who explains to homeowners that Austin’s spring storm season often leaves moisture trapped in wall cavities for weeks before any visible signs appear, which is exactly when mold gets comfortable. She’s known for her plainly worded reports: what was found, what we’re doing about it, and what you should watch for later. On weekends, Elena runs trail maintenance with a local volunteer group in the Barton Creek Greenbelt.

David K., Service Coordinator

David is the voice on the other end of the phone when you call (361) 315-6142 at any hour, on any day, including holidays. He’s been with Marsh Water Damage Austin since 2018 and coordinates dispatch, schedules the team, and makes sure the technician arriving at your door is the same person whose name and photo you received before the visit. David keeps a running log of every active job and knows exactly which piece of drying equipment from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, or Injectidry is on which site at any given moment, which means he can tell you honestly when someone can reach your home. Before Marsh, David worked in commercial property management in Round Rock, so he understands what property owners and insurance adjusters both need from a restoration report. He’s the one who makes sure your written scope and price are sent before any work begins.

One Standard, Every Job

The Threshold Standard isn’t a slogan, and it isn’t applied on a case-by-case basis. It’s five steps, and every technician at Marsh Water Damage Austin follows them on every single visit. First, you get the name and photo of your technician before they arrive; then that technician shows a photo ID badge at the door. Every person on this team is background-checked and identity-verified, and their credentials come from IICRC, RIA, or IFA. Before any work begins, you get a written price, not an estimate that changes after demo starts. Every repair comes with a written, time-stamped 365-Day Done Right Promise printed on the work order, and if the repair fails within a full year, we make it right with a free second visit included automatically. That’s the standard Tobias built this Austin team on, and it’s the same one Marcus, Elena, David, and every other crew member has to meet before they take a single step into your home.
